Ms.SIMONA STOPPA, Italy: Many years in a professional capacity with Italian conglomerates trading in high fashion and white goods had led her to approach the Fair Trade movement about 15 years ago as a better answer to needs of social justice and equity . Working for many years with craftspersons from India , she felt her product experience, marketing skills, design sensitivity were the need of the hour . She has learnt the nuances of design over the years and ,although not formally trained in design she feels 'an outsider with trained designers but at home with carftspersons', a sensitivity she used to set up her own boutique BANI in northern Italy to sell Fair Trade products.
